Katie spent her childhood enjoying the beauty of where we live and being a part of the community that she has been grateful to return to. She graduated as valedictorian of Sheridan High School in 1994 and moved to Spokane, Washington for her undergraduate training at Whitworth College. She then pursued her doctorate training at Pacific University College of Optometry, graduating in 2001. Following graduation, Katie completed a residency at the American Lake VA in Tacoma, Washington to further her knowledge in primary/geriatric optometric care. She enjoyed serving the veterans and working closely with specialists, furthering her education.

After spending two years working in the Denver area, Katie was excited to return to her hometown and put her roots down once again. As technology continues to improve and take eye care to a new level, both she and her partner, Brandi Bilyeu, O.D., have enjoyed making that technology a part of their standard of care. They feel fortunate for the resources now available to best serve their patients in rural communities.
